OTHER SCREENS is a one-day in person screening and discussion forum bringing together artists and researchers working across experimental moving image, archival practice, installation, and visual anthropology. The event explores how moving-image work operates across a heterogeneous ecology of screens—cinema, gallery, research context, installation, and public projection—and how the conditions of screening shape what images can reveal about the world.
Across diverse practices engaging questions of history, identity, embodiment, and political life, the programme foregrounds work that experiments with projection, archive, and exhibition as active research methods. These approaches often allow artists to make visible relationships—between past and present, here and elsewhere, self and other—that resist more conventional narrative or institutional forms.
